Hoy tenemos el enorme orgullo de compartirles una entrevista muy especial: MultiAnime.com.mx se convierte en el primer medio extranjero en entrevistar al dúo japonés nano.RIPE, quienes nos revelan los secretos detrás de su más reciente álbum, Hikari wo Hakobumono.
A 15 años de su debut mayor, la agrupación reflexiona sobre su evolución musical, su profunda conexión con el anime y lo que significa seguir “llevando luz” a través de cada una de sus canciones. Conocidos por dar voz a series entrañables como Hanasaku Iroha, Non Non Biyori, The Devil Is a Part-Timer! y Food Wars!, nano.RIPE ha dejado una huella profunda en el mundo del anime con temas que equilibran emoción, energía y poesía. - “Hikari wo Hakobumono” se inspira en la idea de los “impulsos iniciales”. ¿Cuál fue el primer impulso que dio origen a este álbum?
- Durante los dos años y medio desde nuestro último álbum, seguimos creando canciones y lanzando sencillos. Así que, más que partir de un solo «impulso», este álbum reúne 10 temas seleccionados cuidadosamente de entre canciones creadas durante ese periodo, otras más antiguas y algunas completamente nuevas escritas para este lanzamiento. Creemos que logramos hacer un álbum realmente sólido.
- La canción “Climax” fue escrita como un himno de ánimo para los equipos escolares de béisbol. ¿Cómo se sintieron al componer música pensada para motivar y alentar a jóvenes?
- Nunca pensé que se me diera bien hacer canciones de ánimo, pero como se trataba del béisbol —un deporte que me encanta—, disfruté mucho el proceso e incluso incorporé algunas experiencias personales. Creo que resultó ser una canción que puede inspirar no solo a jugadores de béisbol, sino a cualquier persona que esté persiguiendo un sueño.
- “Hikari no Nai Machi” fue utilizada como tema de apertura en The Devil Is a Part-Timer! y también forma parte de este álbum. ¿Cómo encaja esta canción dentro de la narrativa general de Hikari wo Hakobumono?
- Es la única canción del álbum que se usó como opening de anime, pero incluso dejando eso de lado, creo que ocupa un lugar muy importante en el disco. Habla sobre lo que significa la “luz” para nosotros, así que naturalmente se vincula con el concepto de Hikari wo Hakobumono (quien lleva la luz). También es una canción que transmite un mensaje directo de parte de nano.RIPE hacia todos.
- Kimiko, tus letras siempre han sido poéticas, pero este álbum suena especialmente íntimo. ¿Hubo alguna canción que te costara emocionalmente escribir?
- La canción que escribí con más calma y profundidad fue “Shoki Shoudou”. Mientras comparaba el pasado con el presente, no quería mentirme, así que también incluí sentimientos más negativos y sinceros. Fue un proceso un poco doloroso porque tuve que enfrentar partes muy profundas de mí misma mientras escribía.
- Jun, como arreglista, ¿cómo abordaste el equilibrio entre el sonido clásico de nano.RIPE y nuevas exploraciones musicales en este álbum?
- Fue un reto lograr arreglos más simples usando menos instrumentos, pero sin perder la riqueza del mundo que queríamos expresar. Me esforcé por lograr un sonido de banda en el que todos, no solo la guitarra, tuvieran un papel protagónico.
- Este año se cumplen 15 años desde su debut mayor. Mirando este nuevo álbum como punto de reflexión, ¿qué creen que ha cambiado más en ustedes como artistas?
- Hemos pasado por varios cambios de miembros y tanto nuestro sonido como nuestro entorno han evolucionado con el tiempo. Pero a través de todo eso, creo que logramos encontrar esa esencia inquebrantable que nos hace únicos como nano.RIPE. A partir de ahora, queremos seguir puliendo esa fortaleza aún más.
- Sus presentaciones en vivo son conocidas por la conexión emocional que logran con el público. ¿Qué esperan que sientan sus fans al escuchar por primera vez las nuevas canciones de Hikari wo Hakobumono en directo?
- ¡Queremos que lo disfruten como más les guste! Está bien levantar el puño, aplaudir, bailar o simplemente cerrar los ojos y dejarse llevar. Nos haría muy felices que cada persona lo disfrute a su manera.
- Para cerrar esta entrevista, ¿qué mensaje les gustaría compartir con sus fans de todo el mundo, especialmente en América Latina y España, que los han seguido a través del anime y más allá?

- “Hikari wo Hakobumono” is inspired by the idea of “initial impulses.” What was the first impulse that sparked the creation of this album?
『光を運ぶもの』は初期衝動をテーマにしていると思いますが、このアルバムを制作するにあたっての最初のインスピレーションは何でしたか？
（前作より2年半と少し空いてしまいましたが、その間もシングルをリリースしつつ、
曲作りはずっと続けていました。なので、最初のインスピレーションというよりは、
その間に作った曲や、もっと昔のストック曲、さらに新たに書き下ろした曲の中から
新曲10曲を厳選して今作となりました。本当に良いアルバムができたと思っています。）
During the two and a half years since our last album, we continued making songs and releasing singles. So rather than beginning from a single “impulse,” this album consists of 10 tracks carefully selected from songs we created in that period, older pieces, and brand-new ones written specifically for this release. We believe we’ve put together a really strong album this time.
- The song “Climax” was written as a cheering anthem for high school baseball teams. How did it feel to compose music meant to encourage and uplift young people?
『Climax』は高校野球チームの応援ソングとして書かれましたが、若い人たちを励まし、元気づけるための音楽を作ることは、どんな気持ちでしたか？
（応援歌を作ることはあまり得意ではないと思っていたのですが、大好きな「野球」と
いうこともあり、自分の体験談も交えて楽しく制作することができました。
野球に限らず夢に向かって頑張っているすべての人に聞いてもらいたい曲になりました。）
I never thought I was particularly good at making cheer songs, but since it was about baseball, a sport I love, I really enjoyed the process and incorporated some of my own experiences into it as well. I think it turned out as a song that can inspire anyone chasing their dreams, not just baseball players.
- “Hikari no Nai Machi” was used as the opening theme for The Devil Is a Part-Timer! and is also featured in this album. How does this track fit into the overall narrative of Hikari wo Hakobumono?
『光のない街 』は『はたらく魔王さま！』のオープニング主題歌として使用され、今回のアルバムにも収録されています。この曲は『光を運ぶもの』というアルバムの全体のテーマの中でどのように位置づけていますか？
（今作の中で唯一のアニメ主題歌になるんですが、そういった部分を除いてもとても
大事な立ち位置の曲になったと思っています。ぼくらにとっての「光」とは何か、という
ことを歌っているので、「光を運ぶもの」というテーマとももちろんリンクしています。
nano.RIPEからみんなへのメッセージソングでもあります。）
“Hikari no Nai Machi” is the only anime theme on the album, but even setting that aside, I think it holds an important place. It’s a song about what “light” means to us, which naturally ties into the theme of “Hikari wo Hakobumono” (one who carries the light). It’s also a message song from nano.RIPE to everyone.
- Kimiko, your lyrics have always been poetic, but this album feels especially intimate. Was there a particular song that was emotionally difficult for you to write?
きみコさんの歌詞はいつも詩的ですが、このアルバムは特に親密さを感じさせます。きみコさんにとって、感情を表現するのが特に難しかった曲はありますか？
（一番じっくりと書いたのは「初期衝動」でした。
過去と今を比較しつつ、嘘はつきたくないので後ろ向きなことも言いつつ、
自分の深い部分と向き合いながら書き進める時間は少し苦しかったです。）
The song I spent the most time on was “Shoki Shodo.” As I compared the past with the present, I didn’t want to lie, so I included some of my more negative, honest feelings too. It was a bit painful working through the lyrics while facing those deeper parts of myself.
- Jun, as the arranger, how did you approach balancing nano.RIPE’s classic sound with new musical explorations in this album?
ジュンさんは編曲者として、これまでのnano.RIPEらしさのバンドサウンドを保ちながらも、新しい音楽的探求を今回のアルバムにどのように取り入れられましたか？
（より少ない楽器でシンプルに、だけど世界観はしっかりと表現するという点にとても
苦労しました。ギターだけでなく全員が主役となるようなバンドサウンドを
追求しています。）
I struggled to keep the arrangement simple, using fewer instruments, while still fully expressing the world of the songs. I aimed for a band sound where everyone, not just the guitar, plays a leading role.
- This year marks 15 years since your major debut. Looking back from the perspective of this new album, what do you think has changed the most in you as artists?
今年でメジャーデビューから15年を迎えますが、この新しいアルバムを通して振り返ると、アーティストとして一番変わったことは何だと思いますか？
（幾度かのメンバーチェンジを経て、サウンドも環境も変化しながら活動してきましたが、
その中で揺るぎない「nano.RIPEらしさ」という自分たちだけの武器を見つけることが
出来たと思っています。ここからまだまだその武器をしっかりと磨いていきたいです。）
We’ve gone through several member changes, and both our sound and environment have evolved along the way. But through it all, I think we’ve managed to discover an unshakable sense of what makes us uniquely nano.RIPE. From here on, we want to keep refining that strength even further.
- Your live performances are known for their emotional connection with the audience. What do you hope fans will feel when they hear the new songs from Hikari wo Hakobumono live for the first time?
nano.RIPEさんのライブパフォーマンスは観客との感情的なつながりが特徴的だと思いますが、『光を運ぶもの』の新曲を初めてライブで聴くファンには、どんな感情を感じてほしいと思っていますか？

拳を上げるもよし、手を叩くもより、踊るもよし、目を閉じて聴き入るもよし。
一人一人が自由に楽しんでいただけたら嬉しいです。）
I want everyone to enjoy it however they like. Whether you’re raising your fist, clapping your hands, dancing, or just closing your eyes and soaking it in, I’d love for each person to enjoy it in their own way.
- To close this interview, what message would you like to share with your fans around the world—especially those in Latin America and Spain—who have followed your music through anime and beyond?
